About Muscat

Muscat, Oman's capital is very different from the functional, futuristic capitals of the other Gulf states or the urban sprawl of Cairo, Amman or Tehran it has kept much of its old world charm.  Muscat is the starting point for tours and attractions which include the Al Alam Palace, pretty whitewashed buildings, gold capped minarets, manicured lawns, tree lined boulevards, the sweeping corniche alongside the Arabian Sea and bustling Muttrah souk.  Another landmark is the five towered fort at Sohar, a two-hour drive outside Muscat and a popular stop on a touring itinerary.
