The weather in Ho Chi Minh is split into just two seasons, and the city receives a tropical climate with hot, humid conditions all year round. The rainy season lasts from May to November, with showers tending to be short and sudden during this period. The dry season sees slightly cooler temperatures, but still maintains an average temperature of 28ºC. Typhoons are common between July and November, so it's advisable to avoid this period. Most people choose to visit during the dry season. Bangkok has a tropical monsoon climate and the highest average temperature of any city in the world. Temperatures in Bangkok regularly peak above 30°C throughout the year. The period between November and February is the driest period in Bangkok; September is the wettest month on average. The humidity levels also remain high during this period. The climate in Bangkok is at its hottest from March to August. If you visit between May and October expect short spells of rainy weather, with frequent afternoon showers, monsoons and spells of thunder at times. Krabi lies only eight degrees above the equator, and so naturally maintains a tropical climate all year round. The year is split into two seasons - hot and dry, and 'cool' and wet. Generally, the wet season begins in May and lasts until October, but due to the unpredictable nature of the monsoon winds the seasons can shift slightly, so there is a slight chance of rain on the edge of the dry season. The temperature peaks in March and April, when a dry heatwave is almost guaranteed. The Krabi seas maintain a year round temperature of between 28°C and 30°C all year long.
