Situated in the heart of Beijing, The Opposite House greets you with its striking emerald glass exterior. This stunning contemporary design is inspired by traditional Chinese wood lattice and reflects the vibrant street life surrounding the hotel. And yet, once inside, forms a soft screen that provides guests with privacy and comfort.
Breathtaking from the outside and equally stunning within, the design is one of seamless space. The house is a mix of vibrant and traditional, at the heart of which is a large central atrium where the conventional boundaries of hotel activities are subtly blurred.
These Beijing accommodations, including 99 guest studios, suites, and a Penthouse Duplex are crafted from natural wood and appear strikingly simple and unadorned. More than half of the studios are 70 square meters/753 square feet and above.
The gym is fully equipped with free weights and Technogym equipment and a 22m stainless steel swimming pool. To recharge and rejuvenate try one of the spa treatments are just relax in the steam room.
The city’s foodies gather at the hotel’s intoxicating blend of Beijing restaurants and bars. The two restaurants were conceived by celebrity chef restauranteur, David Laris, with interiors designed by Neri + Hu. Mesh and Village Café were designed by esteemed Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. The dining options take guests through international dining at Village Café to the shores of the Mediterranean at Sureño, and to the northern Asian flavors of Bei.
Beijing weather is split into four main seasons - a short, blustery spring; a long, hot summer; a cool but pleasant autumn and a long, cold winter. Temperatures can reach extremes during summer and winter, exceeding 40C in July and August and plunging to -20C during January. The best time to visit Beijing is during September or October, when temperatures are mild and conditions are fine.
