Langkawi has quite a stable climate for an island in Malaysia. It is shielded from major winds and storms by the mainland on one side and Sumatra on the other. Consequently Langkawi can be visited all year round, as weather is never too drastic. The best time to visit is between April and August, when there is a good balance of sunshine and light rainfall.
