Hanoi enjoys the typical weather experienced in Northern Vietnam, with a hot season from April through to October, and cooler winter weather from then on. The wet season mirrors the hot season, producing humid months with an average temperature of around 30°C. The weather is very changeable however, so don't be surprised to see temperatures, rainfall and sun hours vary from day to day. Generally the best time of year to visit is during April and May, with comfortable temperatures and still relatively low rainfall.
