Alila Manggis Bali
Alila Manggis is a secluded, stylish seaside resort in Manggis, East Bali.
Head away from the crowds to this unspoilt east coast resort in Candidasa, where modern European shapes meet open, tropical design. Demonstrating creative function, elegant luxury and pure well-being, outdoors meets indoors throughout this boutique hotel.
Bali’s perfect ocean views are captured from four two-storey buildings built around a palm-fringed pool, ideally demonstrating simple forms and Balinese touches. Days at Alila Manggis are filled with activity and regeneration, pampering at Spa Alila, and pursuits by the sea such as discovering East Bali’s legendary dive sites. The resort provides a soothing haven of serenity set admidst a coconut grove, nestled between the sea and the majestic Mount Agung, Bali's most sacred mountain. This is the life, East Bali style.
The 53 rooms and two corner suites of Alila Manggis are housed in traditional two-storey thatched Balinese pavilions reminiscent of the village wantilan or meeting hall. Designed to maximise the views across the coconut grove, the swimming pool and the sea of Bali, hotel rooms at Alila Manggis provide the ideal ambiance for a relaxing getaway. The two spacious suites are situated on the upper level of the building closest to the ocean. Large balconies surround the suites, suitable for use as an outdoor dining area or sundeck. The spacious rooms include a living and dining area. All interiors are designed with fabrics and finishings to reflect the local environment making Alila Manggis unique among other east coast boutique hotels. Bali’s best kept secrets can now be discovered from these spacious seaside hideaways.
A stunning pool sits beneath coconut palms within lush landscaped gardens, offering picturesque views across the ocean beyond. Guests can also get their hands dirty digging in the hotel's very own organic vegetable garden before taking part in a class from the award-winning cookery school.
Inspired by a neighbouring organic salt farm, the Seasalt Restaurant is set in a traditional Balinese pavilion on a lotus pond. Serving both a contemporary menu and a range of Indonesian and Balinese favourites, Seasalt is also an integral part of the Alila Manggis Cooking School. Elegant and relaxed, the restaurant looks out on to the ocean and the resort’s beautifully landscaped grounds. Guests can also enjoy poolside or garden dining, set beneath the tranquil coconut grove. The organic garden nearby also presents a surprisingly different dining option.
