Praslin's sleepy charm, inspiring landscapes and world-class beaches await you.
An intimate destination, and one of the Seychelles’ most popular resorts, Praslin is the Seychelles’ second largest island. Utterly picturesque, tourists are drawn here in large part for the spectacular scenery and peaceful ambience. Filled with flourishing indigenous flora and fauna, it's no surprise that this was originally believed to be the site of the Garden of Eden.
Discovering the delights of Praslin is to uncover a true castaway paradise. Simultaneously tranquil and stimulating, its exotic interior, home to aromatic vanilla plantations and rainforest-clad ridges, is perfect for gentle bike rides or exhilarating hiking trips. Enjoy the immaculate white sands and warm waters which make for incomparable beaches, all the while allowing yourself to be indulged and pampered by traditional Seychellois hospitality.
The fabulous palm forest of Vallée de Mai, one of the Seychelles’ two protected UNESCO World Heritage Sites, occupies much of the island's centre. Sightseers should keep their eyes open for colourful chameleons, rare black parrots and the legendary Coco-de-Mer. The 18-hole Lemuria Championship Golf Course, the only one of its kind in the Seychelles, is a real draw for holidaymakers.
Second-to-none for water sports, Praslin's shores are ideal for divers and nature enthusiasts alike, encircled by sheltered bays, perfect for beginners to explore shipwrecks and ancient coral reefs. Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette, both voted among the top 10 beaches in the world, are just two among many idyllic beaches which surround the island. Serious anglers will be pleased to hear the area boasts record-breaking catches and some of the richest fishing grounds in the world.

Weather
Blessed with plenty of sunshine and a warm, stable climate, the temperature in the Seychelles rarely drops below 25°C or rises above 32°C. Lovely to visit the year round, between the months of April and May, or October to November are the best times to visit as the prevailing trade winds are gentler. A tropical climate means that the weather can be somewhat unpredictable, but the cooling rain showers are usually brief. December through to March, the Seychelles' northwest monsoon season, typically sees more rainfall than the much drier southeast monsoon from May to October. The weather generally remains pleasant and hot, and the seas wonderfully calm, during the period from May to September.
