Tokyo’s traditional seasonal weather sees favourable conditions for most of the year, with fairly high daytime temperatures even through the winter months. Temperatures soar in the summer, and the rainy season of June and the typhoon season of September bring abundant rainfall and a humid, muggy atmosphere. The best time to visit Tokyo is in autumn, from late September to November, when days are pleasant and skies are clear.  Shanghai weather can be split into four distinct seasons - a warm spring, a hot and rainy summer, a comfortable autumn and an overcast and cold winter. The region receives rain for around a third of the year due to its location at the estuary of the Yangtze River. The weather is hottest during July and August, peaking over 35C. The best time to visit Shanghai is during spring, from March to May.  Given Bali's proximity to the equator, the island's weather is reliably hot and sunny. There are two distinct seasons: the dry season lasts between May and September and the wet season runs from October to April. Even in the wet season it is likely to be sunny for a good part of the day, and the rainfall is never too high. The best time to visit Bali is between May and September, when temperatures are hot and the days are at their longest.
