"Powdery beaches, towering limestone cliffs, stretches of casuarinas and delicate pines; on the south-west coast of Thailand the quiet region of Si Kao is found."

Its uniquely diverse geography makes it a natural haven, yet the area receives far less visitors than its northern neighbour Krabi. There are only a select few hotels in Si Kao, preserving the region’s secluded vibe.

The Hat Chao Mai Marine National Park spans 20km of coastline in Si Kao, containing a 5km beach with pure sands set against a backdrop of shady limestone hills and hidden caves. The park acts as home for the endangered dugong, or sea cow, the rare black-necked stork and a whole host of other creatures. With a range of spectacular beaches and vast fauna, it’s surprising that the area does not attract more visitors.
